Flying planes and dreaming of the stars, meet our Highflyer, Renee Wootton. Renee is a proud Tharawal woman and a young Indigenous leader whose pathway into the skies began at 15.

Meet Renee, our highflyer!
Renee is a proud Tharawal woman and a young Indigenous leader. At 15, Renee joined the Australian Air Force Cadets. It was here that she found out she had a passion for air travel.
This is how Renee became a highflyer:
- Studied how planes work (aerospace engineering) at university.
- Learned how to fly a plane and got her pilot’s license.
- Developed a set of rules a computer uses to predict fuel tank temperatures at QANTAS
- Helped upgrade a flight simulator (a training tool that creates the feeling of flying without being up in the sky) for an aerospace company
Renee now has her sights set firmly on space!
