Phoebe loves to explore wild places and is a Wildlife Conservation Officer at Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Phoebe wasn’t great at math or chemistry at school, but she loved biology, animals and nature.

This is how Phoebe became a protector:

• Studied how animals and their environments work together (zoology) at university.
• Got hands-on experience researching the impact of beachside cities on ocean environments.
• Went back to university to learn even more about animals which made her an expert on sharks, platypuses and pangolins.
• Works at Targona Conservation Society Australia, releasing animals into the wild and saving them from poachers.

Phoebe has worked in the jungles of the Philippines, gone diving with sharks, helped stop wildlife criminals, and her work was on the front cover of a famous magazine, Australian Geographic.
