Louise grew up on a farm surrounded by cars, motorbikes, and tractors, and this is where her passion for fixing things started. At 15, Louise signed up for a heavy vehicle apprenticeship. She loved it because she learned how to fix really big trucks.

This is how Louise became a fixer:

• She did a lot of study about vehicles and machines, but she could do it while she was working and what she learned made her better at her job.
• Got a job with a big company that designs, builds and provides engines and other important machinery parts.
• Asked lots of questions and made mistakes, which helped her to learn even more.
• Started teaching other people who wanted to become fixers and supporting other women interested in the same kind of work.

Louise says the best thing about her job is the happy look on her customers’ faces!
